Ricky Martin is Beautiful

As I was scrolling through Twitter this morning, I happened across Ricky Martin's tweet, or I guess retweet, of a video that was shown at the beginning of his show during the Black and White Tour. I have a personal video of this taken from various vantage points with my camera from the concerts I attended when the video appeared on the screen. You can imagine my giddiness at seeing the YouTube version of the original video this morning. Obviously the quality of my video, well, sucks in comparison. What a way to wake up! Thanks Ricky!

Besides the beauty of the messaging in this piece, there's one other beauty that can't be denied. The beauty that is Ricky Martin.

Movie Review: Post Grad

Post Grad has a cute premise that is actually relevant to what is probably happening to a lot of college grads - at least a lot more than in other years. It centers around Ryden Malby (Alexis Bledel) as she graduates college, lands the dream interview and finds the dream apartment. That's in the first 5 minutes of the movie. Of course the "plan" starts crumbling otherwise there really wouldn't be a movie... You can google the rest of the plot if you're really interested, but if you didn't land the dream job from the dream interview, you can pretty much guess that hilarity is supposed to ensue as she is forced to move home as she continues to look for employment.

Let me start off by saying I really wanted to like this movie more than I did. Really wanted to. I mean I REALLY loved the players: Alexis Bledel, Michael Keaton, Jane Lynch and Carol Burnett (who really should have written more of her own lines). I don't know if it was the script or the editing, but I left that movie theater feeling like I was missing something.

It is a "cute" movie, but people, save your money and Netflix it.

Random Thoughts

I have so many things going through my head right now, I'm just going to bullet point it out instead of trying to focus on just one and running with it. If ya'll want me to elaborate on any one of them, leave a comment.

  • It really saddens me that in the years that have passed since we were teenagers, not all NKOTB fans "grew up." What's worse, they're putting their immaturity on display online. Comedic and sad all at the same time.
  • "Unfortunate looking" is clever and not too mean of a way to describe a, well, unfortunate looking person.
  • I really am impatient.
  • Champagne is good.
  • Free champagne is better.
  • Free champagne provided at a party thrown by your company in the middle of the afternoon is awesome.
  • Lap dancing is a good skill to have in your back pocket. Never know when it may come in handy.
  • You're never too old to have a snow cone.
  • Skilled pole dancing is also a great party trick.
  • Drunk Michelle is a fun Michelle, unless she's really tired on top of it, then she just becomes a sentimental drunk, aka *sad* Michelle
  • "Simple Kind of Life" by No Doubt is not a good song to listen to when you are in the aforementioned sentimental drunk mode.
  • I really love cupcakes.
  • Sometimes I need to stop opening my mouth when I don't have anything good to say, but it's those times when it's sooo hard to stop myself.
  • I'm in the middle of a life lesson right now that I really wish I didn't have to learn. On the other hand, I'm glad that this is the brunt of it because it's really not all that bad. Thank you for that.
  • Cramps can really take a chick down!

See, I told you what was going on in my head was totally random. Truth be told, I could probably turn any one of them into an entire blog post. Between the Motrin and champagne (I realize this is not a good combo from a health perspective) I consumed today, it was better that I just get it out of my head than try to focus on one thought and carry it through. You ever have one of those days?

Can You Be Cute While Cleanin'?

Why yes, yes you can. I wasn't so sure until I received a pair of the Gloveables (shown above) in the mail several weeks ago to try out. They are definitely not your momma's rubber gloves! These are freakin' cute!

Now I know I should be taking care of my skin more with consistent moisturizing and protecting my hands and arms when I wash dishes. (Yes, I handwash my dishes because with only one person to clean after, it doesn't really warrant revving up the dishwasher.) However, as unlazy as it sounds to promptly wash my dishes, I am totally lazy in protecting my skin while doing the aforementioned cleaning.

Enter the cute parade: They come in great colors with patterned ruffles...lots of cute colors and ruffles. There's also aprons and other accessories to match. To find out more about the company, click on the link above. To purchase a pair (or three) for yourself, check out Organize.com.

These Gloveables just might make me start wanting pull on the rubber - so to speak - when I wash my dishes. Actually, they already have. Hello pretty skin!

I'm Making A Shift Today

That's right folks. I'm making a shift today and scheduling time in my calendar to blog EVERY DAY. At least until it becomes more habitual, and I slow down in having subjects to write about. As one of my favorite guys always says:

"When you think about something, it's a dream. When you talk about it, it's exciting. When you schedule it, it's real." ~Tony Robbins

If you've been following my Twitter at all, you know I am SO not lacking subjects to blog about: any one of the 13 concerts I have or will be attending this year, my "moments" with Donnie Wahlberg and the rest of the boys, the half a dozen movies I've seen in the last few weeks, the 24 pounds I have currently lost and the pounds I will continue to lose, the upcoming NKOTB cruise in May in which I am determined to wear a bikini, or reviews on the really awesome and cute products that the folks at SingleEdition.com have sent me. Stay tuned, you might start to get to know a lot more about me than you wanted to. :-)

Ugh

So I'm still feeling inspired, still feeling revved up and ready to go...at least my mind is anyway. My body had other plans, like getting sick with a summer cold. And today my head is successfully relieving its congestion so my co-workers are getting the pleasure of hearing me hack, sneeze and blow my way back to health. Sorry guys. :-(

Needless to say that it will be another day or two when I don't need to go home and pass out and I have the energy to blog regularly again and Tweet for that matter...

Will write soon...

Be Careful What You Ask For

It wasn't all that long ago that I was hoping an interesting post by one of the NKOTB, or a great quote or something would come along my path so I would be inspired to respond - inspired to blog about it. Let me just say that PLENTY has happened in the last month and a half to more than make up for any writer's block I may have had for the rest of the year. I'm still somewhat in rehab, still trying to recuperate from the 8 concerts and 1 Tony Robbins event that I attended or crewed in the last 7 weeks or so. My body is still trying to get sick on me to remind me just how little sleep I've gotten and just how many thousands of people I've come into contact with. Not only that, but I have received some really great stuff in the mail that I've only recently opened and got my hands on to start using and comment on what I think about them. Reviews are hard to write on things that you only read that you received in the mail but haven't really been home to open your mail.

I need to get disciplined. I need to stop being lazy. Dammit, I just need to get my ass in gear because how long does one chick need to recuperate? I don't actually know if anybody really reads this blog all that much, but if there are people who do, I apologize for leavin' ya'll hanging. And now back to our regularly scheduled programming....
